Frequently Asked Questions
How does punch detection work?
Your Apple Watch's accelerometer samples motion at 50 Hz. When you throw a punch, the app detects the rapid acceleration spike and records your reaction time in milliseconds from the moment the visual stimulus appeared on your iPhone.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. The app works without one. In Combat Sports mode you can hold the phone in your fist and punch — the iPhone's own motion sensor detects it. General Reaction mode uses a simple screen tap and requires no watch at all.
What devices are supported?
Reflex Trainer requires iOS 17.0 or later. Apple Watch features require watchOS 10.0 or later. Any iPhone and Apple Watch that support these OS versions will work.
Is my data collected or shared?
No. All your reaction data stays on your device. The app does not collect personal information, has no analytics, and does not communicate with any external servers.
Why does the app show "No Watch"?
Make sure your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone, both devices have the app installed, and the watch app is open. The status will update to "Watch Connected" once communication is established.
